Samanwaya Sarkar, the first ever recipient of the Bravo International Award (Moscow) as an Indian Classical Artist is a renowned sitarist and a Surbahar player celebrated for his exceptional performances and mastery in traditional Indian classical music. Recognized with the National Award and the President's Award, Samanwaya has also earned an A grade from All India Radio and Doordarshan.
Along with his mastery of the sitar, Samanwaya also possesses a deep understanding of vocal music including genres such as Khayal, Thumri, Tappa and Tapp Khayal, having trained under renowned maestros in the field.

In 2024, Samanwaya Sarkar became the first Indian classical musician to receive the prestigious Bravo International Award in Moscow—an honour that recognizes artists who expand the horizons of global music.
